Hi Team,

The festival is June 21st at Vilas park 7:30 am, races start at 8:30 and can go until 3 pm.  THIS IS AN ALL DAY EVENT.  Please plan on staying to 4pm to help take down and clean up the tent area if you can.  While the races are short there will be a festival atmosphere through out the day. 

We will have an organizational meeting Weds June 18 at 8:00 pm at the school.  We willes need to plan for: 1) dragon dance, 2) dragon boat race team, 3) our tent site, including barbeque and food and beverages.  We need to double check that we have releaes signed, and assess who will make it on saturday.  We will also distribute a parking map and other important information.  And if you haven't paid, I would really appreciate it, since I had to prepay the registration fee a couple of months ago, and we use any excess money for food and drinks for the team.

There is a mandatory practice/orientation for paddlers on Friday June 20 at 8:00 pm at Vilas park.  We will go on the water for about 20 mins and meet our steersperson who will train us on the commands and work with us on our race strategy.  This is highly important if you have never done this before and very important that as many people who are racing attend.I

We will be doing a dragon dance at the opening ceremony.  If you are on the Dragon Dance team, please check in with Shifu.  You will need to plan to be there early.

This event is always a lot of fun.  I hope to see everyone there!
